The Hamptons, New York (September 9, 2022) - International show jumper Gabriela Reutter has refused to compromise on safety since launching her barn, brand, and professional career with Lumière Horses in 2020. Determined to showcase excellence in the saddle and beyond, Reutter partnered with Charles Owen to secure the creme de la creme of equestrian performance and rider safety. As she competes her string of horses as shows across the United States and Europe, she rides exclusively in Charles Owen helmets as well as models the latest in their line of body protection and other sporting accessories.

After first being introduced to Charles Owen by her trainer, Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Chris Kappler, when Reutter decided to strike out on her own partnering with the respected brand was a natural next step. She began with the helmets, which have provided industry leading head protection to riders for more than 100 years. The Charles Owen Halo was the first helmet for Lumière Horses, which Reutter selected in black gloss with a platinum ring and black matte with a black gloss ring. The Halo was introduced to celebrate the company's 110th anniversary in 2021 and includes performance focused features like a 360-degree ventilation system, MIPS certified protection technology, slim, low profile styling, and the unique Halo lattice harness which is designed to grip the occipital bone at the base of the skull for comfort and a secure fit in a fall. Reutter also recently added a MyAyr8 to her collection, which takes from the classic Charles Owen helmet design to allow riders to create a fully custom helmet. Reutter's My Ayr8 features the black and gold stylings of Lumière Horses.

With her cranium in the best of hands, Reutter recently experimented with Charles Owen's line of body and spine protection, specifically the jL9 Body Protector with Gelfoam, The jL9 Body Protector with Gelfoam vest features a slimline appearance and active joint design, which provides 'sprinal grip' to lock the body protector in place and prevent the vest from riding up and exposing the vertebrae. Interchangeable panels create a custom fit, allowing for greater freedom of movement and a crucial safety feature, allowing medical personnel to remove the front and back panels separately without moving the rider, so that life saving CPR can be performed. Strategically placed ventilation holes have also been added to the protective nirile foam panels, which are covered in Coolmax® fabric for maximum breathability and wicking power. The certified SEI to ASTM safety standard provides complete upper body protection confidence for the rider.

"I choose to wear Charles Owen helmets because I believe they are the safest on the market, making me feel confident and protected in the saddle daily," said Reutter. "Their constant testing, research, development, and innovation make Charles Owen a one-of-a-kind company that I am proud to represent."

Reutter's passion for equestrian sport began at a young age, and has since taken her to the upper echelons of show jumping. Combining talent, horsemanship, and dedication to her dreams, she rides with the aspiration of representing Chile at the pinnacle of show jumping sport. Born in Santiago, Chile, Gaby began riding at only four years old. At 17, she moved to the United States to pursue a professional show jumping career. Since 2014, she has ridden under the guidance of Olympic Gold and Silver Medalist Chris Kappler, and completed her undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Studies at NYU.

To date, Gaby is currently the #1 female Chilean show jumper, and has multiple top finishes in international FEI classes, including her Nations Cup accomplishments, European tour, the U25 Grand Prix divisions, and victory in an FEI 4-star event. She currently campaigns her anchor show jumper, Maharees Rock (aka Rocky) and a string of sales horses. Her international equestrian CV also includes Spruce Meadows, The Hampton Classic, and several junior/young rider South American Games. She and Rocky were in the top 3 during this July's Tryon Summer 5 $75,000 Grand Prix CSI2-star, out of 50 entries and top 3 in the $138,600 Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel CSI3* Grand Prix during the 2022 Great Lakes Equestrian Festival. In 2018, Reutter received her certificate of capability for the Pan American Games following a top 3 finish in the FEI 3-star 1.50M Captive One Classic, and has her sights set on representing Chile internationally this fall and winter.
